Nothing stirs the imagination like the polar exploration. A number of explorers, traders and adventurers have intrepidly ventured forth into these legendary areas known for their extreme challenges.
Today, polar travellers fitted with modern equipment trek through the majestic landscapes, usually combining sportive endurance with pure scientific research. Fascinating expedition reports tell about the wondrous white world, the overwhelming feel of space and light, the unique confrontation with the self and of course, the privilege of travelling to one of the last great wildernesses on earth.
For many, being part of a polar expedition appears to be a dream that will always be out of reach. But this does not have to be the case. At least not if you approach it in a professional manner. Proper preparation is key for any expedition into such a rough and untamed environment.
Without it, there is no chance of fully enjoying everything the landscape and the experience have to offer, and even less chance of the ultimate sense of achievement experienced when the excursion comes to a safe and satisfying end.
Polar explorer Dixie Dansercoer and the specialist travel company ZuiDERhuiS have worked together to develop the unique ‘PolarExperience’ project. The goal is to allow active, motivated, although not necessarily experienced polar enthusiasts to experience the overwhelming beauty of the polar regions from up close. To make it possible for this dream to come true, Dixie Dansercoer has developed a step-by-step plan for the coming years.
Every element of the journey falls under his professional guidance and approval. From the first initiation to the final push to the geographical North Pole, Dansercoer will give step by step instruction in the world of polar expedition. What was once an unattainable dream for so many will become a tangible reality.
